VACC, AutoTech and other Publications |
The Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC), Motor Trades Association of QLD (MTAQ), Repco (AutoTech), Boyce's library, Rellim and many other publications of the era (70's, 80's & 90's) were necessary for small business mechanics to better their knowledge and to seek help when required. These institutions still exist today and most workshops are members with one or several of them. Each institution would publish monthly newsletters for its members to keep them educated on new technologies as they emerge and pass on valuable help when required (generally by phone). I was a member of the Motor Trades Association and later joined Auto-Tech for a few years, this was back in the early 90's. Now that I have found my library of publications from VACC, Auto-Tech and others, I will slowly look through them and pick out the articles I think may be of interest to you. Please be aware that the publications are written by technical engineers and are directed at Motor Mechanics. Some information may be just a little too technical for some, however have a read and if some of it is not clicking with you, don't feel it is beyond you. There are plenty of sources to find what you are looking for. I have other literature that I can scan or download that may also be of interest to some. Some articles, I may have already written about some of these topics from my own knowledge and experience and you will find them somewhere within my website, so may be interesting to compare notes.
